The cable network has posted a trailer for the movie on its official YouTube channel. The two-minute video features a montage of archival clips and photos of Clapton that appear in the flick along with commentary from Eric and some of his musical associates.

Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars was directed by Oscar-winning producer Lili Fini Zanuck, and takes an intimate look at the British guitar legend’s life, including his traumatic childhood, his rise to rock stardom, his influence on other musicians, his struggle with drug addiction and the tragic 1991 death of his young son Conor.

The documentary features extensive interviews with Clapton, as well as with family members, friends, musical heroes and collaborators, including comments from late legends B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and George Harrison.

In addition to the September 8 screening, Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars also will be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 11, 13 and 16. Visit TIFF.net for full details.
