Annerin ProductionsForeigner fans, get ready for Jukebox Hero, the jukebox musical.

On Wednesday the band announced that the new musical — featuring 16 Foreigner hits including “I Want to Know What Love Is,” “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded” and, of course, “Jukebox Hero” — will open next August in Calgary, Canada.

The show was based on a screenplay by writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, who also worked on The Commitments and Across the Universe, among other movies and TV shows.

It’s a coming of age story set in a Pennsylvania town where a factory that is the town’s biggest employer shuts down. The town turns to a its most famous son, a rock star named Ryan, to try to save it.

“I am so proud that these songs will now be reinterpreted for stage, and am honored by the team that is helping bring this music to life,” said Foreigner founding guitarist Mick Jones in a statement.

Right now the schedule has the show running in Calgary from August 10-12 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium then moving on to Edmonton for a run from August 16-19 at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.

Other songs set set to appear in Jukebox Hero include “Waiting for a Girl Like You” and “Urgent.”
