The screenings are tonight at the IFC Center in New York City at 7 p.m. ET, Saturday at the Music Box Theatre in Chicago at 6 p.m. CT and Sunday at Laemmle’s Royal Theatre in Los Angeles at 7 p.m. PT.

Paradox is a Western flick set in an undetermined time period, and it’s described as  “[a] fantasy, a loud poem and a free-spirited tale of music and love.” Neil portrays the “Man in the Black Hat,” a bandit hiding out with a group of fellow outlaws played by the members of his current backing band, Promise of the Real, as they all wait for the magic that the full moon brings.

Willie Nelson, whose sons Lukas and Micah are members of Promise of the Real, also is featured in the movie.

Meanwhile, a companion Paradox soundtrack album was released today on vinyl and as a digital download, while a CD version is due out on April 20. The record features studio and live performances Young made with Promise of the Real and an orchestra, with session drummer Jim Keltner and bassist Paul Bushnell, and solo.

The soundtrack also includes narration from the movie recited by Willie Nelson, new versions of older songs by Neil, covers, new original tunes and solo electric guitar passages.

The Paradox soundtrack is now streaming in its entirety at NeilYoungArchives.com.
