Dave J Hogan/Getty Images for The Rolling StonesJust after noon ET today, the Rolling Stones lit up their social media accounts with a 15-second video clip, featuring the sound of a stylus touching down on a vinyl record, the opening notes of “Start Me Up,” and what looks like a slowly spinning boxed set case, with fifteen colored tongue logos on the spine.
At the end of the clip, text appears at the bottom of the screen that states, simply, “June 15.”
Response from fans was immediate and enthusiastic, with many guessing that there’s a Stones vinyl boxed set in the works. If true, this would be the band’s seventh boxed set. The most recent was the 2016 15-CD/16-LP release of the Stones’ mono albums, called The Rolling Stones in Mono.
