The 67-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer also will take part in a conversation with the Cultural Center’s director, Arjia Rinpoche.

Mellencamp has been friends with Arjia Rinpoche for more than a decade, and is a longtime supporter of the Cultural Center. The institution’s mission is to support the cultures of Tibet and Mongolia in Asia and the U.S., to provide Buddhist teachings in the Bloomington area, and to promote peace and harmony between all faiths.

The celebration will take place one week after Mellencamp releases his latest album, Other People’s Stuff, a collection of cover songs John has recorded over the years. The singer/songwriter will support the album with a 2019 North American trek dubbed “The John Mellencamp Show” that gets underway February 7 in South End, Indiana.
