The 68-year-old rocker has announced that he’s canceled the 10-date trek, which had been scheduled to launch on November 30 in in Sioux City, Iowa, and he’ll be taking off the rest of 2018.

According to the announcement, Perry “would like to apologize to the fans who were planning on coming to the shows and looks forward to seeing them again in 2019.” Tickets refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

Joe was hospitalized after experiencing a health issue backstage following his guest performance with Billy Joel at the Piano Man’s November 10 concert at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. A statement from Perry’s rep reported that the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer had “experienced shortness of breath and was treated backstage by paramedics who gave the guitarist oxygen and used a tracheal tube to clear his airway before taking him to a hospital.”

A Perry rep told ABC Radio this past Friday that Joe was home from the hospital and “doing well.”

The trek had been plotted out through a December 16 concert in Agoura Hills, California. The next event of Perry’s schedule is Aerosmith’s recently announced February 1, 2019, concert as part of the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest in Atlanta.
