Ken Settle; ABC/Image Group LABob Seger and his Silver Bullet Band were among the big-name artists initially confirmed to play the 2019 edition of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, but now comes word that the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and his group have canceled their appearance.

According to a post on the festival’s social media sites, Seger and the Silver Bullet Band’s performance at the event, which was to have taken place on Saturday, May 4, was nixed “due to scheduling conflicts.”

There is some good JazzFest news, however: Motown legend Diana Ross has joined the lineup and will be hitting the main stage on May 4.

This will be Ross’ first-ever performance at the famous festival. The former Supremes singer recently launched a yearlong celebration to mark her 75th birthday, which takes place on March 26, so her JazzFest show will likely be considered part of the festivities.

Meanwhile, Seger and company recently kicked off a 2019 leg of their farewell trek, the Roll Me Away tour, which currently is mapped out through a May 2 concert in The Woodlands, Texas.

As previously reports, the 2019 New Orleans JazzFest is scheduled for April 25-28 and May 2-5. Among the many other artists set to play the event are The Rolling Stones, Santana, John Fogerty, Dave Matthews Band, Van Morrison, The Doobie Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Jimmy Buffett, Gladys Knight, The O’Jays, Chaka Khan, Tom Jones, Mavis Staples, Irma Thomas, Jimmy Cliff, Rita Coolidge, Taj Mahal, Maria Muldaur, Alanis Morissette, Ziggy Marley, Aaron Neville, Boz Scaggs, Jerry Lee Lewis, Los Lobos, Buddy Guy, Indigo Girls, Little Feat and Robert Cray.
