Duff McKagan releases new solo single, “Tenderness”

Credit: Scott DudelsonDuff McKagan has debuted a new solo song called “Tenderness.” The track, a yearning ballad recorded in collaboration with country artist Shooter Jennings, is available now via digital outlets.

“Tenderness” is the first single from the Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver bassist’s upcoming solo album, due out later this year.

“The real point of ‘Tenderness’ is not for me to be some damn politician or some other voice to add to what is already way too much noise,” McKagan says in a statement.

“This is a song of unity and peace…and I want this record to be a meditation and to bring maybe some healing, if that is not too high-handed or lofty of a goal.”

McKagan will play a pair of solo shows this spring, taking place May 30 in Philadelphia and May 31 in Washington, D.C.
