Doc McCoy has been a deejay on Sonoma County radio since 1993. In 2003, KVRV 97.7 FM “The River” made its debut and Doc was one of the original deejays. “This is the music I grew up with; the bands I saw in concert, the albums I bought, the songs I listened to on the radio. To be able to play these songs today for listeners who share the same passion for them as I do is the ultimate thrill for me.”
Besides radio, Doc is also a published author. In 2007, he began began writing the biography of his mother and her family’s experience in a Japanese prison camp during WWII, and completed the manuscript after his trip to the Philippines in 2008. His highly praised book, “Through My
Mother’s Eyes,” was published by Strategic Book Publishing in New York in September of 2008. Doc wrote the award-winning screenplay adaptation, “Under the Rising Sun,” the following year.
Doc lives in Sonoma County with his wife, Angela, and their two cats, Lavender and Phoebe.
