Eagle Rock EntertainmentAudio companions to three archival Rolling Stones concert films — Ladies & Gentlemen Live in Texas 1972, Some Girls: Live in Texas ’78 and Live at the Checkerboard Lounge, Chicago 1981 — will be made available as standalone CDs for the first time this Friday, June 16.
Ladies & Gentleman features performances culled from four shows that The Stones played in Texas during the 1972 tour in support of their Exile on Main Street album. The movie was released theatrically in 1974 and was issued on DVD and Blu-ray in 2010.
Some Girls: Live in Texas ’78 was recorded in July 1978 at a show at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth not long after the band’s Some Girls album topped the Billboard 200 chart. The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray in November 2011.
Live at the Checkerboard Lounge documents a historic November 1981 concert at which several Rolling Stones members joined Muddy Waters as the blues legend performed at his Chicago club. The show features Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and longtime Stones touring pianist Ian Stewart sitting in on several numbers. Live at the Checkerboard Lounge initially was released as a DVD/CD set in July 2012.
