Operation Mend, Hire Heroes USA, Warrior Canine Connection, TAPS, Semper Fi Fund, Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, Stop Soldier Suicide, and Swords to Plowshares are the charities, all of which The charities support veterans or wounded military members and their families.

Walsh, whose father was killed while on military duty when Joe was just 20 months old, says of launching VetsAid, “It’s the least I could do for those who have served and continue to serve our country. We’re all in this together as Americans and seems to me lately that people are forgetting that.”

The concert, which will be held at the EagleBank Arena, also will feature performances by country stars Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band, and blues-rock guitarist Gary Clark Jr. Tickets for the event are on sale now. Visit VetsAid.org for more information.

“The first round of charities selected adheres to the highest standards in fiscal transparency and governance, delivering high-quality programs that positively impact the lives of the families they serve,” said Chris Ford, CEO of the National Association of Veteran-Serving Organizations, who assisted picking the beneficiaries of the show.

Other organizations interested in receiving funds raised by the concerts can submit an application that’s available at VetsAid.org. Applications can be submitted until September 10.

After the VetsAid concert, Walsh will be playing a series of fall shows with The Eagles. He also has a three-date solo engagement at the House of Blues in Las Vegas on November 16, 18 and 19.
