Cowbell meets sleigh bells: Ex-Blue Oyster Cult drummer Albert Bouchard releases new Christmas album

Most Cowbell RecordsFounding Blue Oyster Cult drummer Albert Bouchard is adding some cowbell to those yuletide sleigh bells with a new holiday album called It’s Christmas… Again. Bouchard recorded the album with ex-Blondie backing singers Tish and Snooky Bellomo — founders of Manic Panic hair-dye company — under the moniker Albert and the Sleigh Riders.

The 11-track collection features contributions from a variety of guest musicians, including Albert’s brother and fellow former Blue Oyster Cult member Joe Bouchard, original Alice Cooper band bass player Dennis Dunaway, Dictators bassist/songwriter Andy Shernoff and the late Joey Ramone‘s brother, Mickey Leigh.

In addition to playing drums on all tracks, Albert contributes vocals, guitar, keyboards sax and other instruments to select songs.

Incidentally, Albert and Joe Bouchard, along with Dunaway, play together in the band Blue Coupe.
