Are John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan planning a wedding in South Carolina?

The New York Post‘s Page Six gossip column reports that sources on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina, where the heartland rocker owns a mansion, say local residents suspect that the couple are planning to get married there.

The sources tell Page Six that Mellencamp and Ryan have been seen in various locations around the island over the last few weeks, and seem to be organizing some kind of celebration. However, Ryan’s rep says the rumors aren’t true.

John and Meg began dating in 2011, broke up in 2014, and then got back together last year. In December, Mellencamp and Ryan were spotted enjoying a New York Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Garden with sons Hud and Jack from their respective marriages to model Elaine Irwin and actor Randy Quaid.

This June, Mellencamp will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at a ceremony held in New York.
