Plant then introduced the members of the team, commonly known as the Wolves, as the evening’s house band played the club’s adopted anthem, the 1969 reggae instrumental “The Liquidator.” The Wolves had much to celebrate this season, as they easily won the English Football League Championship and will be promoted to the more prestigious Premiere League for the 2018-2019 season.
Plant, who’s been a lifelong fan of Wolverhampton, was interviewed at the ceremony by U.K. sports presenter Jacqui Oatley. Acknowledging the team’s infrequent success, Robert said, “It’s been a bloody murderous journey. This is paradise.”
