Chad Smith, Ian Paice, Bill Ward & more featured in UK documentary series “The Art of Drumming”

Steve Keros; Brian Rasic/WireImageRed Hot Chili Peppers‘ Chad Smith, Deep Purple‘s Ian Paice, Black Sabbath‘s Bill Ward and Cream‘s Ginger Baker are among the 30 drummers featured in The Art of Drumming, a four-part documentary series airing on the British TV network Sky Arts.

The series aims to “celebrate the unsung heroes of rock.” Other drummers participating in the project include ex-Dream Theater member Mike Portnoy and Blondie‘s Clem Burke. You can check out a preview for the series at Sky Arts’ official YouTube channel. In the clip, Ward explains about his drummin gtechnique, “I play in pictures and imagination.”

There’s no word on whether The Art of Drumming will be coming to the U.S., but if you have access to Sky Arts, you can watch the premiere episode September 14.
