ABC/Heidi GutmanSo, something’s going on in the world of Green Day.
On Friday, each of the band members — Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool — made their Instagram profiles private. Additionally, the main Green Day Instagram is also now private.
When these sort of dramatic social media things happen with bands, it often means that new music is coming. Could new Green Day be around the corner?
Nothing concrete has been announced, but Armstrong said in an Instagram Live session late last year that he was writing new Green Day songs to follow 2016’s Revolution Radio. Stay tuned.
As for something that’s for sure happening in Green Day land, a new photography book on the band will be released August 27.
The book includes photos taken by renowned rock photographer Bob Gruen, and includes commentary by Armstrong, Dirnt and Cool. Armstrong also wrote an introduction.
“Here’s to Bob Gruen!” Armstrong says. “Capturing our best as we do our worst.”
