On his 2017 studio album, White Knight, Todd Rundgren teamed up with Steely Dan‘s Donald Fagen for song called “Tin Foil Hat” that humorously skewered President Donald Trump and right-wing media. Now, Rundgren is offering the tune for free to Democratic candidates interested in using it in their campaigns.

An accompanying video also was made for “Tin Foil Hat” that, like the song itself, mercilessly mocks President Trump and conservative news coverage of him.  Rundgren is also making the clip available to Democratic politicians.

You can check out the video at Cleopatra Records’ official YouTube channel.

With regard to collaborating with Fagen on “Tin Foil Hat,” Rundgren said, “The song was primarily driven by our common frustration with what happened in the recent election. It was still pretty fresh, and we were still pretty mad about it, so it happened pretty organically.”

Speaking with ABC Radio about the track, which features Fagen on lead vocals, Rundgreen described it as “a lost song from a Steely Dan record.”

As previously reported, Todd will take part in the star-studded “It Was Fifty Years Ago Today — A Tribute to The Beatles’ White Album” tour, which kicks off this Saturday, September 21, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The trek also will feature The MonkeesMicky Dolenz, Badfinger‘s Joey Molland, Christopher Cross, and ex-Chicago singer Jason Scheff.
