ABC/Randy HolmesGreen Day side band The Coverups will play a one-off concert taking place December 6 at the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa, California.
The show, which is already sold out, will feature support from The Interrupters. The ska rockers will also open for next summer’s U.S. leg of the much-hyped Hella Mega tour, featuring Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer.
The Coverups lineup includes Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and touring guitarist Jason White. As their name suggests, The Coverups are a cover band, and have performed songs by Tom Petty, David Bowie, The Clash and The Replacements, among others.
Meanwhile, Green Day proper is gearing up for the release of a new album, as well as the aforementioned Hella Mega tour. That album, Father of All…, is due out February 7.
