Monty Brinton/CBS
Monty Brinton/CBSToday marks the fourth anniversary of Prince‘s passing, and tonight, artists including Foo Fighters, The Bangles‘ Susanna Hoffs and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin will be featured paying tribute to the late music icon on the CBS special Let’s Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince.
The concert, which was recorded in January, saw the Foos cover “Pop Life” and “Darling Nikki,” and Hoffs duetting with Martin on her band’s 1986 hit “Manic Monday,” which was written by Prince.
“He was, without question, the best of all time,” Foo frontman Dave Grohl says of Prince in a video previewing the special.
Among the many other artists who performed at the event were Beck, Gary Clark Jr., Earth, Wind & Fire, soul/gospel legend Mavis Staples, Sheila E., John Legend, Morris Day & the Time, and Prince’s former band The Revolution.
The show is hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Maya Rudolph, who also performed with her Prince cover band, Princess.
