The Rolling Stones have confirmed that they’ll perform in Cuba for the first time.
The Concert for Amity will take place March 25th in Havana and will be the first open-air concert in the country by a British rock band. The show will be filmed for future release. As part of the show, the Stones are also leading an initiative in which musical instruments and equipment are being donated by major suppliers for the benefit of Cuban musicians.
The Stones said in a statement, “We have performed in many special places during our long career, but this show in Havana is going to be a landmark event for us, and, we hope, for all our friends in Cuba, too.”
