ATO RecordsCover versions of songs by Pink Floyd, The Who and King Crimson will be featured on a new EP from The Claypool Lennon Delirium.
The band, led by Primus frontman Les Claypool and Sean Lennon, son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, will issue the four-track Lime and Limpid Green EP on August 4. The limited-edition disc, previously released for Record Store Day earlier this year, will be printed on clear vinyl with a green splatter design.
The EP includes renditions of Pink Floyd’s Syd Barrett-era track “Astronomy Domine,” The Who’s whimsical “Boris the Spider” and King Crimson’s prog-rock classic “In the Court of the Crimson King.” The fourth track is a cover of “Satori,” a 1971 song by the little-known Flower Travellin’ Band.
The Claypool Lennon Delirium have included most of the tracks, as well as other classic-rock staples, in their live set. The band’s debut album, Monolith of Phobos, was issued last year.
