Tommy Castro & the Painkillers performed recently at the Windsor Town Green Concert Series. On his way to the show, Tommy stopped by the River studios for a chat on the air with Mike Watermann to talk about his new album (coming in September), and upcoming shows–including New Year’s Eve at the Mystic Theater in Petaluma. Here’s part of that conversation:
Tommy brought his acoustic guitar along, so Mike asked him to sing a song that Tommy wrote a few years ago about the need for change in the world. The song is called “Anytime Soon”:
Tommy and Mike also discussed the difficulty of driving anywhere in the Bay Area…and Tommy’s 2-hour drive from San Rafael to Santa Rosa. Tommy also mentioned that tickets for the New Year’s Eve show at the Mystic are on sale now. Then Tommy also requested that Mike come and sit in with the band on drums later on at the Windsor Town Green show:
Since Mike would never turn down a chance to play a song or two with Tommy’s band, Mike stopped by the Town Green later that evening! Thanks to Tommy and the rest of the band: drummer Bowen Brown (for being so gracious), bassist Randy McDonald, and Mike Emerson on keyboards! Thanks to Courtney Scales and Bob Favreau for the videos
