Courtesy of Rogers & CowanMoody Blues singer/bassist John Lodge recently told ABC Radio that he was preparing a DVD documenting the final show of his 2016 U.K. tour in support of his solo album, 10,000 Light Years Ago. Now, he’s revealed full details of the release.
John Lodge: Live from Birmingham — The 10,000 Light Years Tour will be released October 18 as a CD/DVD box set and a digital download, while a limited-edition two-LP 180-gram vinyl album will be available on November 20.
The DVD and album were recorded on September 30, 2016, at a hometown show Lodge played at Birmingham Town Hall. John’s set featured several songs from 10,000 Light Years Ago and a variety of Moody Blues tunes, including “I’m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band),” “Gemini Dream,” “Ride My Seesaw,” “Isn’t Life Strange” and “Candle of Life.”
Lodge also performed “Saved by the Music,” a song from the 1975 collaborative album Blue Jays that he recorded with his Moody Blues band mate Justin Hayward.
The box set contains a behind-the-scenes bonus DVD featuring footage of both Lodge’s trip to New York City to promote the release of 10,000 Light Years Ago and his U.K. trek supporting the album.
Fans can pre-order the Live in Birmingham box set at PledgeMusic.com starting on September 7.
