The Michigan rockers announced today that the remainder of the trek will be postponed because Seger has been ordered by his doctors to take care of “an urgent medical issue concerning his vertebrae.”
“I’m so disappointed to have to suspend the tour as the band is on a great roll,” Seger says in a statement. “It’s a privilege to play for our amazing fans. Hoping to be back out on the road very soon.”
News of the tour postponement comes after Bob and his band postponed their show in Columbus, Ohio, this past Monday. The trek, which has featured Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson‘s new group Roadcase Royale as the support act on most dates, had been plotted out through a November 17 performance in Chicago.
Rescheduled dates are expected to be announced soon. Tickets sold for the postponed concerts will be honored for the rescheduled shows.
Seger recently announced that he will be releasing a new studio album called I Knew You When on November 17.
Meanwhile, Roadcase Royale has announced that it has canceled four headlining gigs it had lined up on off-days during the Seger trek. The nixed shows were scheduled for this Wednesday in Knoxville, Tennessee, this Sunday in Nashville, October 15 in Oklahoma City and October 17 in New Orleans.
