Dave Grohl and Chad Smith talk about their influences in “Landmarks Live in Concert” preview

ABC/Andrea McCallinThe next episode of the PBS series Landmarks Live in Concert, hosted by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, features Foo Fighters performing at the historic Acropolis in Athens, Greece. In a preview for the special, Smith and Foos frontman Dave Grohl talk about their influences.

Grohl begins by talking about his childhood love for “’70s AM radio,” which Smith agrees “ruled.” “That’s got such a big place in my heart,” Grohl says. “10CC, Andrew Gold, Gerry Rafferty.” You can watch the clip now via PBS.com.

The Foo Fighters’ episode of Landmarks Live in Concert premieres this Friday, November 10. You can also catch Foos live yourself, as the band currently is touring North America in support of its new album, Concrete and Gold.
