ABC/Randy HolmesThe Rise of L.A. Thrash Metal, a documentary about the scene that gave rise to bands including Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer, will be released on DVD January 19.
The film, which is narrated by Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, features interviews with Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, plus members of Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Body Count and Suicidal Tendencies.
The Rise of L.A. Thrash Metal is part of the Inside Metal documentary series. A second part of the film will hit DVD at a later date.
