Courtesy of Live NationForeigner will team up with Whitesnake and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening for a recently announced major summer trek dubbed the Jukebox Heroes Tour that kicks off June 15 in Bangor, Maine, and runs through an August 1 show in Irvine, California.
Founding Foreigner lead guitarist and songwriter Mick Jones tells ABC Radio that he thinks this year’s tour is “pretty exciting,” noting that the band mounted a similar trek last year with Cheap Trick and Bonham’s group.
With regard to Bonham, who’s a former member of Foreigner, Jones says, “He plays his father’s [late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham‘s] stuff pretty tight…The apple didn’t fall far from the tree with him. And he’s just a lot of fun to have on the tour.”
As for Whitesnake, Jones says he’s looking forward to hanging with the band’s frontman, David Coverdale. “He’s a funny guy, got a great sense of humor,” Mick declares. “So I think it’s gonna be a lot of fun.”

Before the Jukebox Heroes Tour, Foreigner has headlining dates scheduled from a February 22 show in McAllen, Texas, through an April 28 performance in Durant, Oklahoma. In late March and early April, the band will play eight special symphonic concerts with the Dave Eggar Orchestra.
This past year, Foreigner celebrated its 40th anniversary, and to commemorate the milestone, some of the band’s former members, including founding frontman Lou Gramm, performed with the group at several shows.
Jones tells ABC Radio that Foreigner is planning similar reunion events this year. “I think it’s good for the fans,” he maintains.
