RhinoIn celebration of the New Year, the Rhino label is launching the 2018 edition of its “Start Your Ear Off Right” campaign, which features a variety of limited-edition vinyl discs that will be available exclusively at select record stores across the U.S. this month. Among the releases are colored-vinyl LPs from Alice Cooper, ZZ Top and Dio.

Cooper’s offerings to the campaign are reissues of a trio of his early-1970s albums: 1970’s Easy Action on gold vinyl, 1971’s Killer on red vinyl with black swirls, and 1975’s Welcome to My Nightmare on purple vinyl.

ZZ Top’s “Start Your Ear Off Right” releases are reissues of the Texas trio’s second and third albums — 1972’s Rio Grande Mud and 1973’s Tres Hombres, respectively — on brown vinyl and green vinyl.

Reissues of the first two albums by the late Ronnie James Dio‘s namesake band, 1982’s Holy Diver and 1983’s The Last in Line, will be out on red vinyl and blue vinyl.

The Rhino campaign also will offer a two-LP black-vinyl reissue of The New York Rock and Soul Revue‘s 1991 concert album, Live at the Beacon, which features performances by Steely Dan‘s Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald, Boz Scaggs, Phoebe Snow, and The RascalsEddie Brigati.

Other artists releasing vinyl discs in conjunction with the initiative include Aretha Franklin, John Prine, Richard and Linda Thompson, Golden Smog, and The Notorious B.I.G.

The first “Start Your Ear Off Right” releases hit stores this Tuesday, January 9, with additional discs available on January 16 and 23. Visit Rhino.com/SYEOR for full details on the campaign, including where you can purchase the albums.
