Credit: Eric Ryan AndersonSting has teamed up with Jamaican-American singer/rapper Shaggy to record a new song titled “Don’t Make Me Wait”, which will be released internationally on February 2.
The duo will give the tune its live debut in Kingston, Jamaica’s capital, on Saturday, January 6, at the “Shaggy & Friends” benefit concert. The show, which is expected to be attended by 20,000 people, will raise money for the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Kingston.
“Don’t Make Me Wait” is one of several songs Sting and Shaggy recorded together at studio sessions held in late 2017, during which the two artists focused on making music that reflected their love for the people, music and culture of Jamaica.
Shaggy gave a sneak preview of the collaboration on Wednesday when he paid a visit to a popular radio station in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Also on hand were Wyclef Jean and Soca music stars Bungi Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons, who’ll all perform at the “Shaggy & Friends” concert as well.

Sting and Shaggy also have plans to film an official video for “Don’t Make Me Wait” in Jamaica on Sunday, January 7.
Shaggy is best known for his pop hits “It Wasn’t Me,” “Angel” and “Boombastic.”
