Courtesy of MSO PRJoe Perry has unveiled the lineup of musicians who’ll be joining him at his previously announced “Joe Perry and Friends” concert next Tuesday, January 16, at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, California.
The sold-out gig, which will celebrate the January 19 release of the Aerosmith guitarist’s new solo album, Sweetzerland Manifesto, will feature appearances by three singers who contributed to the record: Cheap Trick‘s Robin Zander, ex-New York Dolls frontman David Johansen and veteran British blues-rock vocalist Terry Reid.
Extreme/ex-Van Halen singer Gary Cherone also will take part in the show, while Perry’s backing band will include Stone Temple Pilots‘ Dean and Robert DeLeo on guitar and bass, respectively, as well as Aerosmith touring keyboardist Buck Johnson and drummer David Goodstein.
Sweetzerland Manifesto is a 10-track collection featuring nine songs written or co-written by Perry, as well as a cover of the 1960s protest anthem “Eve of Destruction,” which Joe sings.
In addition to Zander, Johansen and Reid, the album includes the talents of Joe’s Hollywood Vampires bandmate Johnny Depp, plus Who touring drummer Zak Starkey and Perry’s sons Tony and Roman. Depp executive-produced the record.
Sweetzerland Manifesto‘s lead single, “Aye, Aye, Aye,” is sung by Zander, who co-wrote the tune with Perry.
