Eagle Rock EntertainmentA concert film documenting an October 2016 performance Robert Plant and his current band The Sensational Space Shifters gave at Twin Peaks director David Lynch‘s inaugural Festival of Disruption multimedia event gets its release today on DVD and as a digital video.
The show featured reworked renditions of several Led Zeppelin tunes, including “Black Dog,” “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You” and “Going to California,” as well as four songs from Plant’s then-latest solo album, 2014’s Lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar. The rock legend and his group also played a medley that brought together the Zeppelin classic “Whole Lotta Love,” Muddy Waters‘ “Hoochie Coochie Man” and Bo Diddley‘s “Mona.”
The Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters Live at David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption video also offers some bonus content, footage of Lynch discussing creativity, music and meditation.
The Lynch-curated Festival of Disruption was held at the Ace Hotel in L.A. The event featured musical and dance performances, DJ sets, discussions, art exhibits, virtual reality displays, film screenings, meditation sessions and more. Money raised by the festival raised money for the David Lynch Foundation, which provides Transcendental Meditation education programs to domestic-violence victims, veterans suffering from PTSD, at-risk young people and others. Sales of the DVD and digital video will benefit the foundation.
