Steve Snowden/Getty ImagesFollowing the death of longtime Foghat bassist Craig McGregor this past Friday, his widow, Lisa, has now shared some details of where and when fans can pay their respects to the veteran rocker. According to a message on the band’s website, a visitation for McGregor will be held this Friday, February 16, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET at the Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading, Pennsylvania.
Craig’s family suggests that in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to either the Fox Chase Cancer Center in support of the Philadelphia facility’s cancer research efforts or to the Humane Society of America. The McGregor family also says fans can consider adopting a pet in Craig’s memory.
The message also thanks fans “for the overwhelming support that you have bestowed upon Craig and our family during his battle with cancer, and now sadly upon his passing.” The note adds, “Please know that your gracious love, support and prayers are filling our hearts and bringing us great comfort — we are truly blessed.”
McGregor died at age 68 after a long battle with lung cancer. Craig first joined Foghat in 1976, and played on and off with the band until 2015, when his illness forced him to stop touring. He did contribute to the group’s latest studio album, Under the Influence, which was released in 2016.
