Original members Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin will hit the road together for the first time in nearly 20 years starting July 12 in Glendale, Arizona. The trek, dubbed the Shiny and Oh So Bright tour, concludes September 7 in Boise, Idaho.

Tickets will go on sale next Friday, February 23 via SmashingPumpkins.com.

The tour will feature the reunited Pumpkins playing songs from their first five albums: 1991’s Gish, 1993’s Siamese Dream, 1995’s Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, 1998’s Adore, and 2000’s Machina/The Machines of God. The news was announced in a video starring the two girls from the Siamese Dream cover.

Along with Corgan, Iha and Chamberlin, the band’s lineup will also include latter-day Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder. It’s still unclear who will play bass.

Though the reunion has only just been officially announced, it’s already been fraught with drama. After Corgan posted a photo of himself alongside Iha and Chamberlin in a recording studio, original bassist D’arcy Wretzky revealed that she will not be taking part in the reunion. She then said that Corgan did invite her to join the reunion, only to rescind that offer.

In response, the Pumpkins issued a statement saying that Wretzky has “repeatedly been invited out to play with the group, participate in demo sessions, or at the very least, meet face-to-face, and in each and every instance she always deferred.” Wretzky denied that claim in a subsequent interview, during which she also called Corgan “insufferable” and posited that he “may have a brain tumor.”
