Courtesy of John Fogerty/CAATwo roots-rock legends — ex-Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty and ZZ Top — are joining forces for a late-spring/early-summer U.S. trek dubbed the Blues & Bayous Tour.
The outing kicks off May 25 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and is currently is scheduled through a June 29 concert in Welch, Minnesota, with more dates expected to be announced soon.
Tickets for the confirmed shows go on sale to the general public this Friday, March 2, at 10 a.m. local time. Pre-sale tickets will be available starting Tuesday, February 27, at 10 a.m. local time. For more details, visit JohnFogerty.com and ZZTop.com.
One of the concerts on the tour, a June 26 show in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, also will feature country legend Willie Nelson.
“ZZ Top is one of my favorite bands, and [the group’s frontman] Billy F. Gibbons is one of my all-time favorite guitarists,” says Fogerty in a statement. “Riffs, blues and bayous…bucket list!”
Adds Gibbons, “John Fogerty along with ZZ Top have been followers of blues and rock since the beginning and we’re looking forward to rippin’ it up together this spring. We’ve got a great show lined up for ya!”
In addition to the co-headlining trek, Fogerty and ZZ Top both have Las Vegas residencies scheduled for this year. John will be performing at the Wynn Las Vegas resort in May and October, while the Texas trio will be playing at The Venetian Theatre in late April.
