Social Distortion and Cracker drummer Charlie Quintana dead at 56

Waring Abbott/Getty ImagesDrummer Charlie Quintana, who played in the bands Social Distortion and Cracker, has died at age 56.

Cracker confirmed the news Wednesday on the band’s Twitter, calling Quintana “one of the greatest drummers of all time.” “A true test of a drummers ability is a slow song,” the wrote. “No one could ever match him on this.”

Quintana was a member of Social Distortion from 2000 to 2009, and played with Cracker in 1995 and 1996. He was also a founding member of the ’70s punk band The Plugz, and he’s played with Guns N’ Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin and Bob Dylan.
