Springsteen on Broadway‘s engagement at the Walter Kerr Theatre has just been extended for 81 new performances, from July 10 all the way through what’s being labeled as “a final New York City show” on December 15, 2018.
This marks the third time that the show has been extended since its initial eight-week run began in October of 2017.
Tickets for the new dates will go on sale Wednesday, March 28, at 11 a.m. ET, and will be available to people who previously registered with the Ticketmaster Verified Fan program. Registered fans will be contacted by Ticketmaster with more details on Monday, March 26.
Meanwhile, after the March 28 on-sale date, a limited number of tickets to each upcoming show will be offered for a discounted price through a special online lottery system at LuckySeat.com/springsteen-broadway.
Springsteen on Broadway began previews on October 3, 2017, and officially opened October 12. Before the latest run was announced, the show had been scheduled to end with a June 30, 2018, performance.
As Bruce explained in an initial press statement, the show “is just me, the guitar, the piano and the words and music. Some of the show is spoken, some of it is sung.”
During the show, Springsteen is often joined onstage for two songs by his wife, E Street Band backing vocalist Patti Scialfa.
