Coverdale tells ABC Radio that the record is titled Flesh and Blood, and that it probably will hit stores in September.

The singer says the album marks the first time he’s written new music with current Whitesnake guitarists Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra, who joined the band in 2002 and 2014, respectively.

“I’m thrilled with it,” Coverdale declares. “It’s got all the elements that I love about Whitesnake, but with a vibrant, fresh coat of paint. The guys have really delivered.”

David also reports that the band recently shot the first video for a song from the album, for a tune called “Shut Up and Kiss Me.” He says the clip is light, fun and features “a bunch of women.”

In addition, Coverdale tells ABC Radio that Whitesnake will be putting out a number of archival releases this year. Among them will be a deluxe reissue of the group’s hit 1984 album Slide It In that’s due out around the time that the tour kicks off in June. Then, around Christmas, the band will release Whitesnake Unzipped, which David says is “a double CD and a DVD of acoustic journeys through the years, or something like that.”

Lastly, Coverdale reports that Whitesnake also is preparing a deluxe 30th anniversary reissue of its 1989 album Slip of the Tongue, which will arrive next year.

The 2018 Jukebox Heroes Tour with Foreigner, Whitesnake and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening kicks off June 15 in Bangor, Maine.
