Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder (ABC/Craig Sjodin)Earlier this year, Pearl Jam released a new single called “Can’t Deny Me” and confirmed that the band’s next album was in the works. But now it doesn’t seem like that album will be arriving anytime soon.
“I’m not sure where we’re at, I’m not sure where the band’s at,” bassist Jeff Ament tells NME of the new record. “Things got busy with tour dates and that sort of stuff.”
He adds, “I wish I had an update for you.”
Pearl Jam’s most recent album is 2013’s Lightning Bolt. While you wait for the new record, Ament is releasing a solo album called Heaven/Hell, which features contributions from PJ’s Mike McCready and Matt Cameron, on May 10.
As for those tour dates, Pearl Jam will embark on a trip through Europe this summer, and they’ll return to the U.S. for a brief stadium run in August.
