The Classic Deep Purple Live trek kicks off on August 25 in Westbury, New York, and will wind down with a September 21 concert in Tarrytown, New York.

Hughes will handle lead vocals and bass duties on the tour, and he’ll be accompanied by guitarist Soren Anderson, keyboardist Jesper Bo Hansen and drummer Fer Escobedo.

Glenn played with Deep Purple from 1973 to 1976 and was part of what was known as the band’s “Mark III” and “Mark IV” lineups, which featured future Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale as lead singer. Hughes was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the group in 2016.

Fans coming out to Hughes’ shows can expect to hear songs from his tenure in the band, as well as some of Deep Purple’s earlier classics.

Hughes previously brought the Classic Deep Purple Live tour to Australia and New Zealand in 2017, and the trek also visited Europe and South America earlier this year.

In other news, Glenn’s all-star band Black Country Communion, which also features drummer Jason Bonham, blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa and ex-Dream Theater keyboardist Derek Sherinian, is planning to record its fifth album next year.

In an interview with the Iron City Rocks podcast, Bonham revealed, “I believe we’re gonna go back in the studio again in January. That’s what I heard. And then we can focus more on touring next year.”

Black Country Communion’s released its fourth album, BCCIV, last September.
