Legacy RecordingsElectric Light Orchestra was hugely popular in the U.S. during its 1970s and ’80s heyday, but the band was even more successful in its native U.K. Now, a new vinyl box set featuring reproductions of 15 singles and one EP that the group released in the U.K. from 1972 through 1978 will hit stores on September 21.

The U.K. Singles Volume One: 1972-1978 contains 16 seven-inch vinyl discs that boast sleeves and labels replicating those of the original releases. Among the classic tunes featured in the collection are ELO’s space-age cover of Chuck Berry‘s “Roll over Beethoven,” and classic tunes like “Can’t Get It Out of My Head,” “Evil Woman,” “Strange Magic,” “Livin’ Thing,” “Telephone Line,” “Turn to Stone,” “Mr. Blue Sky” and “Sweet Talkin’ Woman.”

The aforementioned EP, titled The ELO EP, originally was released exclusively in the U.K. in 1978 and featured four of the band’s previous hits.

All of the recordings appearing in the box set were remastered from the analog tapes.

In other news, an expanded 35th anniversary edition of ELO’s 1983 studio album Secret Messages will be released as a two-LP, 150-gram vinyl set on August 3. This will mark the first time the album will be available on vinyl. The collection will include six previously unreleased bonus tracks.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, Wembley or Bust, the 2017 concert film documenting a show that Electric Light Orchestra’s current incarnation, Jeff Lynne‘s ELO, played in London, will get its U.S. television premiere on Showtime this Friday, July 27, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The band will kick off a North American tour on August 2 in Oakland, California.
