Mike Coppola/Getty ImagesLast month, reports emerged claiming that Steve Perry had filmed an interview for CBS Sunday Morning that will air October 7. That fueled rumors that the ex-Journey frontman was finally preparing to release his long-awaited new solo album. Now, a new development has got Steve’s fans believin’ some news about the singer’s new musical project may be coming soon: He’s just introduced an official website, StevePerry.com.

The website’s homepage boasts an animated note that reads, “I know it’s been a long time comin’…,” and also features links to Perry’s newly launched official social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Among the first replies to Perry’s message on his Twitter feed is from founding Journey guitarist Neal Schon, who wrote, “So now hopefully we can have the coffee.”

Schon’s comment is apparently a reference to an exchange Neal says he had with Perry at the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where the singer told him they should get together for coffee soon. But Schon told ABC Radio earlier this year that he and Perry hadn’t been in touch since the ceremony.

In an April 2017 interview, Perry told ABC Radio that his new album featured songs inspired by his relationship with a woman who passed away from cancer four years earlier.
