According to ABC Las Vegas affiliate KTNV, the late Pantera and HELLYEAH drummer died of dilated cardiomyopathy, a heart condition in which the left ventricle is enlarged, preventing it from pumping blood effectively.
The coroner for Clark County, Las Vegas, where Paul died June 22, ruled that severe coronary artery disease also contributed to the cause of death.
Paul died at age 54. He was buried in Arlington, Texas next to his brother “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott and their mother, Carolyn.
