Courtesy of Jeopardy Productions, Inc.Former Runaways bassist Jackie Fuchs, who was known as Jackie Fox while she played with the influential all-female band, continued her winning ways on Wednesday’s episode of Jeopardy!, becoming champion for a fourth straight day while racking up $87,089 in total earnings.

In a new phone interview with Pitchfork, Fuchs says she’s feels great about the notoriety she’s getting on the game show, but explains that she didn’t initially want to reveal her rock-star background.

“I told the producers that I wouldn’t talk about it unless I made it to day three, because I don’t want that to be just who I am, you know?” she maintains. “I think there’s more to me, and I wanted people to get to know my more fun, quirky side. But I had to talk about it because we have some really great fans and I thought it would be nice to acknowledge them in that way.”

Meanwhile, the 59-year-old, who retired from music long ago and is now an entertainment lawyer, admits that the popular music categories aren’t her strongest.

So which ones does she prefer? “Classical music, opera, literature, and art,” she tells Pitchfork. “I was happy there was an art category. You want things that are difficult and that not everybody knows, because I’m older than most of the other contestants.”

As for whether she misses playing music, Fuchs says, “Sometimes. But the idea of being on the road at my age just doesn’t appeal to me. I miss the creative part.”

She adds that she now explores her creative side by writing short stories and novels, none of which have been published yet.

Tune in to Jeopardy! today to see if Fuchs becomes a five-time champion. Check your local listings for air times.
