Andrew Lipovsky/NBCOn Wednesday’s Tonight Show, legendary rockers The Who‘s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend joined host Jimmy Fallon and his house band, The Roots, in the Tonight Show Music Room for a performance of the Who classic, “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” performed with classroom instruments.
In the recurring segment, Fallon and The Roots back music artists for a version of one of their popular songs, using instruments you would find in a classroom. In this case, it was Daltrey singing lead vocals and playing a tambourine, while Townshend strummed a ukulele. Jimmy and The Roots, meanwhile, added vocals, along with a xylophone, melodica and various percussion instruments, including bongos and shakers.
Past music room guests have included Aerosmith, Metallica, and Fleetwood Mac‘s Lindsay Buckingham and Christine McVie.
Daltry and Townshend taped their segment earlier in the week while on the New York City stop of their Moving On! Tour, which continues with dates in Nashville tonight and Noblesville, Indiana on Saturday.
