Courtesy of Rogers & CowanGeorge Thorogood and the Destroyers will head out on a lengthy North American tour this month in honor of their 45th anniversary.
The “Good to Be Bad: 45 Years of Rock” trek, which currently features more than 30 confirmed shows, kicks off June 22 in Hinckley, Minnesota, and is plotted out through an October 19 concert in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Thorogood and his band will continue to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on this tour by donating $1 from each concert ticket sold to the charity, something they also did the last four years. In addition, George and the Destroyers will donate all proceeds raised from sales of specially branded t-shirts at the shows to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In other news, the Epiphone company recently released a limited-edition signature Thorogood guitar based on the veteran roots rocker’s 1959 “White Fang” ES-125 hollowbody model. The instrument boasts a bone-white finish and comes with a removable cobra sticker, a signed certificate of authenticity and custom hard case with snakeskin-style handle.
George’s latest studio album, Party of One, was released in 2017 and was his first solo effort. The 14-track collection features covers of some of Thorogood’s favorite blues and folk-influenced tunes, including songs by Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and Johnny Cash.
