Alice Cooper is paying homage to some of the garage-rock heroes from his one-time hometown, Detroit, with a new record titled The Breadcrumbs EP.

The six-track EP includes guest appearances from ex-Grand Funk Railroad singer/guitarist Mark Farner, MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels drummer Johnny “Bee” Badanjek,  and Mick Collins, frontman of the garage-soul outfit The Dirtbombs.

Breadcrumbs includes covers of Bob Seger and the Last Heard‘s “East Side Story,” The MC5’s “Sister Anne,” Suzi Quatro‘s “Your Mama Won’t Like Me,” and a track combining of the Ryder and the Detroit Wheels classic “Devil with a Blue Dress On” and “Chains of Love,” a 1967 tune by local soul singer J.J. Barnes that was later recorded by The Dirtbombs.

Buy the vinyl version of the EP and you’ll also receive a digital download of the record. You can pre-order the record now at ear-music.shop.

Following The Beadcrumbs EP, Cooper is planning to release a full-length studio album in 2020. He’s currently on a U.S. summer tour with Halestorm that continues on Tuesday, June 23, in Cincinnati, and is mapped out through an August 16 show in Camden, New Jersey. Visit AliceCooper.com to check out his full 2019 itinerary.
