The second half of season seven of AXS’ The Big Interview returns on October 1st, with a sit-down with one of rock’s greatest screamers, Brian Johnson of AC/DC.
In a preview clip, Johnson recalls the giant case of writer’s block he struggled with while in the Bahamas, working on AC/DC’s soon-to-be-huge Back In Black album. As he tells Rather, he was having breakfast with producer Mutt Lange as a storm rolled in, and Johnson said iut inspired him to write what would become one of AC/DC’s classic tracks, “Hell’s Bells.”
Johnson remembers, “Mutt went, ‘Oh, it’s rolling thunder!’ And I went, ‘Rolling thunder, pouring rain, coming on like a hurricane. There’s white lightning flashing…’ I mean, I literally was giving a weather report!”
The episode, which contains many other memories sure to enthrall AC/DC fans, will air October 1st at 8 p.m. EST, on AXS TV.
