Credit: Jeremy SafferDave Mustaine is the latest musician to sell instruments from his personal collection via the online gear marketplace Reverb.com.

The Megadeth frontman is putting nearly 150 items up for sale, including guitars such as a 1987 Dean Dave Mustaine Signature Holy Grail V and a tour-used Signature Stealth VMNT.

Additional gear for sale includes various pedals, amps and drum machines, some of which are signed by Mustaine.

“I have always believed when it comes down to memorabilia with a band — especially instruments — I want to pass this onto people,” Mustaine says. “I want them to be able to have something that I had.”

“When I die, I don’t want a guitar in my coffin,” he adds. “Some of these guys want to be buried with stuff — I don’t want to die. I want to live forever.”

Good news on that front: bassist David Ellefson said in a recent interview that Mustaine had completed his treatment for throat cancer.

Mustaine’s Reverb shop opens November 4.
