Rick Guest/Interscope RecordsThe Who has joined the lineup of the 2020 edition of the annual Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concert series at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The British rock legends will headline a show on Saturday, March 28, and will be accompanied by a full orchestra at the gig.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the concert series, which was started by Who frontman Roger Daltrey, who is a longtime patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust. The band headlined the first benefit show for the charity, which helps fund recreational centers and support teams for teenagers and young people fighting cancer.
“When we were asked to play the first Teenage Cancer Trust concert back in 2000, we would never have dreamed that we’d be headlining again in 2020…or could have possibly imagined the huge difference these shows would have for the charity and, on the lives of thousands of teenagers and young people with cancer,” Daltrey says in a statement.
The singer adds, “I’d like to dedicate this 20th anniversary gig to the incredible people who care for young people with cancer each and every day.”
Tickets for The Who’s Teenage Cancer Trust benefit show go on sale this Friday, February 21, at 9:30 a.m. local time.
This year’s concert series runs from March 24 through March 29, and also will feature headlining performances by Stereophonics with ex-Jam frontman Paul Weller, Groove Armada, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Nile Rodgers & Chic.

The Who’s charity performance will take place in the middle of the band’s 2020 U.K. tour leg, which begins March 16 in Manchester and runs through an April 8 show at London’s Wembley Arena.
