Bob Seger, Foreigner's Mick Jones and other rockers share their Christmas plans

ISTOCK/THINKSTOCKChristmas time is here again, and as many of us prepare to celebrate the holiday, some well-known music stars recently shared their own plans with ABC Radio.

Bob Seger says he and his family often head to Florida for Christmas because his brother and mother-in-law live there. This year, however, the Michigan rocker says the holiday will be “kind of a quiet affair” that he’ll be celebrating at home, because of his recent neck operation that forced him to postpone part of his North American tour.

“[My brother and wife’s mother are] coming up here because of my situation,” Seger explains. “You know, I just can’t travel yet.”

Foreigner‘s Mick Jones says his family will be getting together in the South Beach section of Miami Beach, Florida, because two of his sons live in the area. Jones says his family will be well fed on Christmas, since his wife is “a great cook” who usually whips up “a pretty big dinner.”

“She starts the day before, and [is] serious,” Mick reveals, adding with a laugh, “And we have Christmas pudding, of course, a very British tradition, which takes a lot of people by surprise when they taste it. But it’s always good.”

Moody Blues frontman Justin Hayward, whose band recently got the news that they’ll be inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in April, tells ABC Radio he plans to spend Christmas with loved ones back in his home country, the U.K.

“Like everyone else, [I’m] looking forward to being with family,” he says.

Yes and Asia keyboardist Geoff Downes, meanwhile, says the Christmas season gives him the chance to relax and also do some work on new music.

“I’m just gonna be chillin’ out and maybe doing a little bit of writing,” he notes.
